My great-grandfather is buried in Makawao Cemetery. He and my great-grandmother arrived from Norway in 1881. She worked as a domestic; my great-grandfather was a blacksmith. There’s a bunch of Scandinavians there, and lots of people of Japanese descent. Cowboys from the ranches, too.
My grandparents are buried there, my parents, and my sister. My brother and I obtained plots, so I’ll go there, too. It’s the most beautiful cemetery around.

The photo you have as being Hollis Aiken Hardy is not Hollis, but his father, Frederick Wood Hardy, as a young man. Hollis Aiken Hardy didn’t wear a moustache or mutton chops, or even sideburns. I can provide photos of Hollis, if you want any. He was my grandfather.
