The funeral: Representing the county a motorcycle escort led the progression followed by a police platoon. County offices were closed all day to respect the memory of the veteran board chairman and flags were at half mast.

1912 Elected chairman of the Board Supervisors and served for the next twenty years; stepfather was John Kalama, a politician
